From Turtle Island to Palestine: Settler Colonialism and Decolonization
June, 23 2024
Thank you for everyone for your participation, attendance, and contributions to raising funds for Stqeeye’ Learning Society and the Indigenous priorities fund.
Special thanks to Adeena from Love’s Galettes that made the beautiful cakes and treats, and provided chairs and assistance in dealing with the “concerns” aimed at us for putting up this political discussion.

canada and israel, as settler colonial states, are both founded upon continuous dispossession of and violence against Indigenous peoples while the steadfastness and resilience of Indigenous peoples point us all towards decolonization and to a more free and just society. How should we understand settler colonialism and how does our understanding of it affect what we mean by solidarity and decolonization?
Now more than ever it is imperative that we discuss and dismantle the colonial ideas.

This nationalist/Zionist has chosen to put this sign up for the public during Indigenous peoples weekend. The message “I stand with Israel” clearly conflates the ultra nationalism for the canadian state in relation to the israeli state.
